Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026This policy explains what information storm (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the site, and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account data: your email address, username, and a securely hashed password if you set one. If you sign in with Google, Discord or GitHub, we receive your name, email and profile picture from them.
- Usage data: your library, reading and watch history, ratings, and the comments you post while signed in.
- Cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a preferences cookie (theme, language, reader settings), and one that remembers your cookie choice.
- Technical data: standard server logs — IP address, timestamps and requested pages — used for security and abuse prevention, such as rate limiting.
How we use it
We use this information to run storm's features — sign-in, your library, reading progress, comments — to keep the service secure, and to maintain the site. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't show ads based on it.
Your choices
You can decline non-essential cookies on the cookie banner. You can turn off history, edit your profile, and delete your account at any time from Settings › Privacy — deleting it removes your profile, library, history and linked accounts from every app.
Data retention & security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never in plain text. We keep account data while your account is active and remove it promptly after you delete your account.
